We visited Gujarat in India a couple of years back with the express intent on seeing the last remaining Asiatic Lions on Earth. There were 237 lions in this small National Park left then and we were lucky enough to see several of them. As we arrived a couple of Western tourists were leaving after a futile week of not seeing one lion!I have to leave now as my wife is back from her contract job in Bangalore for a short two week holiday.
